How To
Get a Scanner Fixed

If you ever experience a problem with your scanner unit or program, do not hesitate to call technical support for assistance. Many times, we can get the problem fixed without needing to send anything in for repair. When all else fails, though, you may need to send your scanner unit to us and use a loaner while we troubleshoot your problem.

The first step is always to contact us. In order to ensure that your inventory management is not interrupted, we will send you out a loaner unit overnight to replace the unit you are sending in for repair. Once you have received this loaner, please make sure that it did not get damaged during shipping by turning it on and testing the scanning, printing, and display. Once you are sure the loaner unit is not damaged and will function appropriately, you can start boxing up your scanner.

If at all possible, use the same packaging that you received from us, including the protective plastic wrapping. Read the enclosed slip to make sure you are including everything, such as batteries, labels, etc. While you usually only need to send in the scanner unit, there may be special circumstances requiring more equipment to be sent.

During the time that you are using the loaner, please contact us immediately if you encounter the same problem as you had with your scanner unit. Any information you can give us will make the repairs that much quicker.

Once we have fixed the problem, we will send your scanner unit back to you overnight. Before you send the loaner back, make sure that your scanner unit functions appropriately. There are many things that can happen during shipping, or the problem may not even be with your scanner unit specifically. Once you are sure that your scanner unit is working appropriately, package the loaner unit and all other equipment required and return it to IPS.

If you are ever not sure about what to do, contact technical support and we will be more than happy to assist you.
